Driving in Rain and Thunderstorms




Driving in rain poses challenges. Rain reduces the visibility of your headlights, causing vision.

Most people don't think about driving in rain until it’s raining. It’s best to plan ahead in the case of a rainstorm.

Here are some tips to help you drive safely in rain.
  • Replace your wipers twice per year
  • Use Rain-X
  • Check your lights
  • Keep your windshield clean (water runs of it easier)
  • Use gentle pressure on the accelerator when starting. This will reduce the car from fishtailing
  • Keep both hands on the steering wheel
  • Keep a close eye on the road
  • Never drive with bald tires
  • If you don’t feel confortable driving in rain, pull off to the shoulder of the road and wait until it lightens.
